Doris Lessing Rocks
That's been true for a while. But now that she's won the Nobel Prize, hopefully more people will discover her.
If you haven't read The Fifth Child, pick up a copy ASAP. I'm also a fan of her classic The Golden Notebook and the Canopus In Argos series.

i'll have to check her out
I loved how nonchalant she was about winning. According to the Washington Post:
Doris Lessing was out grocery shopping near her home in London yesterday when the Swedish Academy announced she had won the 2007 Nobel Prize in literature. She returned from the store to find a media circus, the wire services reported.
"Oh Christ!" she said, when told about the monumental honor. "I couldn't care less."
My first thought was that "Grace won the Nobel Prize? The world must be ending..."
I got confused with Debra Messing.
So, all I know of Doris Lessing is what felipe anuel just posted.
I take it Ms. Lessing is a good literary writer?
BTW, Martha guided me here...so far, I think the site is great! I'll be popping in more often. This isn't the last you'll see of me. Blame Martha....
